Experiencing

poverty?

The Challenge

For those who struggle to get by every day, actually getting ahead hasn’t been part of your story. Life is unstable and unpredictable. Getting and keeping a good job seems nearly impossible, yet doing so is key to turning your life around.

But what if you were able to take control of your future? How would your story change?

The Solution

Getting Ahead solves these challenges by helping participants build resources and gain control over their future stories. Participants create their own success by investigating:

  • The realities of conditions in your community and how they impact you

  • Some of the “hidden rules” for getting ahead

  • Skills that give you confidence to do what it takes to get ahead

  • How to build resources and make connections at home and at work

  • Ways to deal with change and create stability in your life

Getting Ahead is for people who are

  • Seeking a change in their lives,

  • Leader or potential leaders, and

  • Dealing with daily instability. (“Daily instability” is when one problem creates a bunch of other problems)
